In this 15 hour training you will:
  • Gain an understanding of what trauma is and its effects on human physiology 
  • Explore the autonomic nervous system and the common physical contraction patterns associated with the stress response.
  • Understand the role of the vagus nerve and yoga tools to reclaim healthy vagal tone.
  • Learn the role and presence of a trauma informed teacher
  • Create a safe container for healing: language, sequencing, room set-up 
  • Learn to apply the tools of pranayama, integrated gentle movement practices, & sacred sound to guide your students to nervous system regulation
  • Build your tool kit for teaching trauma sensitive populations
  • Experience practice to balance and regulate your own system 

 

This course is for both Yoga Teachers and interested students.

It was the gift of chronic pain that brought Alison to her yoga practice in 1993.  Through study and practice of the 8 limbs of yoga, she found powerful tools to heal her body & mind. Inspired to help others, she trained at the acclaimed schools of White Lotus Foundation, Integrative Yoga Therapy, Yogalign at Kauai Yoga School, Healing Hands Schools of Holistic Health, The Novato Institute for Somatic Research and Training, and the Upledger Institute. Alison is a Trauma Informed IAYT Certified Yoga Therapist, E-RYT 500 with Yoga Alliance, Licensed Massage Therapist through the California Massage Therapy Council, Reiki Master, Experienced Yoga Teacher Trainer, and Level 1 Equine Somatic Movement Educator.
